This exchange started over 30 years ago with Carl Owczarzak (pictured right) and Carsten Boder (tall guy in the middle). Originally it was a soccer exchange and has since evolved into a school exchange. I travelled with Carl in 2007 and took over the planning and organizing in 2009. My counterpart in Germany is Henri Ohlman (pictured second from left). Henri was originally a student on the exchange and came to the USA as a student in 1985.
